Love for the Dark-eyed Junco
Inspired by a freshly opened bottle of Iroshizuku Kiri-same and newly arrived Pilot Custom Heritage 74 demonstrator in Blue Stone, I draw the slate-colored Dark-eyed Junco. The pen has a bold nib, my first, showing off the shading on the excellent grey ink.
- The fountain pen is a Pilot Custom Heritage 74
- Ink is Iroshizuku Kiri-same ink
- Paper is Tomoe River 72gsm
- A Caran d’Ache watercolor pencil for the underdrawing
Cute. Plentiful at over 630 million. Slate-colored Dark-eyed Juncos always found in bunches. El Junco Ojoscuro. Born long before across shores. Belonging here long after. They are known throughout North America and Mexico.
